about

Outside it was a humid funk, inside and downstairs in the basement was a cool oasis. I was at Leighton Craigs house in Brisbane. It was 2006 or 2007.. I can't remember which tour.. To pass the time until the cool of evening I recorded these tracks, weird psychedelic folk and pop songs. All made up on the spot and recorded to tape via loop pedal.
A few months later and I was invited to send tracks for a limited edition 7" on Greek label absurd and I chose a couple of these tracks. My payment for this was to be some copies of the record (a lathecut).
Then on returning to NZ in early 2010 after a year abroad I found a mysterious box of 7"s in my stuff- they had no labels and it took me a while to realise what they were. Having only 14 of them I decided to hand paint the labels using nail polish, making them into small stainglass windows.
These sold out pretty fast but I thought it a real shame that there were so few of them and that only 2 of the tracks from this session had been released. And so, heres the whole session...
