about

Having moved to Christchurch in June of 2010 Antony Milton found himself unemployed and impoverished to the extent that he thought it may be neccesary to go busking to earn money for food. This recording documents the kind of music and sounds that he was thinking to take down to the local mall in an attempt to brainwash adults and children alike into throwing their life savings into his instrument case.
The instruments in question were a broken 3 string guitar and a banjo played through computer speakers via a loop pedal. Tones are built up with ebow, the banjo skin drummed, layers of finger picking added to create a wide variety of pieces, from psyche improv to classic folk to drone.
Originally released as a limited edition C60 tape packaged in a special art card slipcase containing a small book of ink drawings, one for each piece on the tape.
This digital reissue includes all art from the tape release.
