1999, I'd come home from a year in India a few weeks before I got the itch and borrowed a 4 track off a friend. I'd gotten kind of obsessed with mortality whilst away, taken to wearing a string of skull beads Kali style, and was thinking about the way that death has become so medicalised in our culture where as I'd been thinking a more spiritual approach would be healthier. 2012 and I'm not so sure that I'm quite so romantic about the idea of daeth as I was then but I still rate this song..
