I'd been playing this tune for nearly 20 years, since I was a teenager listening to British shoegaze stuff and The Clean, but had never really finished it. A friend of ours Anna invited us to house-sit her place in Newtown and she had a really nice rich sounding acoustic guitar and I recorded this version whilst there.
It ends with a burst of echo- the only effect used on the entire record and its a weird moment but I actually like the way it brings the unaffected nature of the rest of the album into relief.
